2. Legal framework
Processing is carried out in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and French Law No. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 as amended (“French Data Protection Law”). The competent supervisory authority is the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL) — www.cnil.fr.
3. Categories of data processed
- Identification and contact details (surname, first name, email, telephone);
- Professional information strictly necessary for handling matters;
- Technical browsing data (logs, cookies) subject to your consent for analytics.
4. Purposes and legal bases
- Managing contact requests and client files — performance of a contract / steps prior to entering into a contract;
- Compliance with legal and regulatory obligations applicable to the profession — legal obligation;
- Website security and improvement, audience measurement — legitimate interest and, where applicable, consent (analytics cookies).
5. Recipients
Authorised lawyers and staff of the practice; trusted technical providers (hosting, maintenance) bound by confidentiality; competent authorities where required by law.
6. Retention periods
- Client files: for the duration of the matter, then in accordance with applicable limitation periods;
- Accounting records: 10 years;
- Prospecting contacts: 3 years from last contact;
- Analytics cookies: up to 13 months.
7. Hosting and transfers
Hosting in the European Union (OVHcloud). No transfers outside the EU, save where required by law or strictly necessary for handling a matter (in which case appropriate safeguards are implemented).
8. Security and professional secrecy
Appropriate technical and organisational measures are implemented. Professional secrecy applies to exchanges and documents entrusted to the lawyer under French law.
9. Your rights
You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, as well as provide instructions regarding your data after death, by writing to ebersegol@bersegol-avocat.fr. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
10. Cookies and third-party services
Only strictly necessary cookies are placed by default. Google Analytics is used solely with your prior consent via the banner; IP is anonymised and cookie lifetime is limited. A “Manage cookies” link is available in the footer.
